Recently, our student Qiao Wentao published a research paper as the first author in the international journal International Biodegradation&Biodegradation (IF: 4.1, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Second District) titled "Solidago canadensis enhances its invasion by modulating prokaryotic communities in the bulk soil" (August 2024). Jiangsu University is the first completion unit, and our teacher Wang Yongfeng is the corresponding author.

In the current context of globalization, the invasion of alien plants has become a significant threat to biodiversity, food security, economy, and human well-being. The specific role of soil microorganisms in plant invasion is still unclear. This article studies the microbial communities in the background soil and rhizosphere soil of plants under different invasion levels (<10%, 50%, and>90%) of Canadian goldenrod, revealing that Canadian goldenrod may enhance its invasion ability by regulating the types and relative abundance of functional microorganisms in the soil.
