Jiangsu University is one of the first four universities in China to offer a major in Environmental Protection Equipment Engineering. This major is a first-class undergraduate major construction site, a characteristic major, and a key environmental major in Jiangsu Province. It has been certified as an engineering education major. In the 2023 Soft Science China University Professional Ranking, the major was rated as A+level and ranked first.
Training objectives: This major aims to cultivate advanced engineering and technical talents who can adapt to the needs of social and economic development, have good humanities and social science literacy and healthy physical and mental qualities, have a high sense of social responsibility and good professional ethics, have innovative consciousness and international vision, possess basic theories, knowledge and skills in environmental protection equipment engineering, have strong practical abilities in environmental protection equipment engineering, and can engage in environmental protection and related fields such as research and development, design, manufacturing, installation, operation, consulting and management of environmental protection equipment.

Further study opportunities: The School of Environmental and Safety Engineering at Jiangsu University has the authority to award doctoral degrees in environmental science and engineering, master's degrees in environmental science and engineering, and postdoctoral research stations in environmental science and engineering, providing convenient conditions for graduates to continue their studies. Graduates with excellent grades can pursue master's and doctoral degrees without taking entrance exams. At the same time, the school has a joint graduate program with Jiangsu University and Cranfield University in the UK, recruiting doctoral students in environmental science and engineering and master's students in resources and environment (environmental engineering). Employment Status and Trends: In the past three years, the employment rate of students majoring in Environmental Protection Equipment Engineering has been 100%. Graduates of this major can work in technical management positions in departments such as the Ecological Environment Bureau and Environmental Monitoring. They can also work in design institutes or environmental protection equipment enterprises to develop and design environmental protection equipment, install and debug environmental protection equipment. They can also enter petroleum, chemical, coal, electronics, food and other enterprises to work in the operation and management of wastewater, waste gas, solid waste and other treatment facilities.
