On the afternoon of September 9, Li Hongbo, Party Committee Secretary of Jiangsu University, conducted research and provided guidance on the work of the School of Environmental and Safety Engineering. Accompanying him were leaders from various functional departments, including Shi Jinhua, Director of the Party Committee Office; Yang Juan, Director of the Discipline Construction and Planning Development Division; Wang Fei, Director of the Personnel Department; and Zhu Xiaoyong, Executive Deputy Dean of the Graduate School. The school's Party Committee Secretary Xia Jianru, Dean Xu Hui, and other members of the school's leadership team participated in the research.

Xia Jianru, Party Committee Secretary of the college, reported on Party building work. Xu Hui, the dean, provided a detailed report to Secretary Li and the delegation, covering four key aspects: the college's development, the completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan, key tasks for 2025, and the bottlenecks and measures for the college's development.

After reviewing the reports, Li Hongbo fully acknowledged the achievements made by the School of Environmental and Safety Engineering in recent years. Regarding future work, Li Hongbo put forward five requirements: first, to uphold the Party's leadership and integrate Party building with academic development, striving to establish the school as a national model Party branch on the basis of its provincial-level model status; second, to care for the growth of young faculty members, attract and utilize talent effectively; third, to proactively align disciplinary development with the broader agricultural engineering discipline of the university, exploring pathways for "agriculture + environment" development; fourth, to adapt to the new development stage by optimizing majors and leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance professional development; and fifth, to scientifically plan the 15th Five-Year Plan.

Xia Jianru and Xu Hui, on behalf of the college leadership team, stated that they would thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of Secretary Li, unite and strive forward, work diligently, promote the high-quality development of the college, and contribute environmental safety efforts to the university's "Double First-Class" initiative and the construction of a distinctive, high-level university.

Shi Jinhua, Yang Juan, Wang Fei, and Zhu Xiaoyong provided guidance on various aspects of the college's work, including party affairs, discipline development, personnel affairs, and graduate education.
