According to the requirements of the master's degree training program and relevant documents of the graduate school of the university, formulate the implementation rules for the thesis proposal of the master's degree program in the School of Environmental and Safety Engineering.

1、 The college has established a comprehensive assessment team for proposal opening

The college has established 11 comprehensive assessment groups, including Environmental Science and Engineering (Science), Environmental Science and Engineering (Engineering), Environmental Engineering, Safety Science and Engineering (Academic), and Safety Engineering, to comprehensively evaluate the selection of master's thesis topics. The assessment team shall be composed of at least 5 experts from the same or related disciplines, and at least 1 enterprise (industry) expert shall be included in the expert group for the proposal of professional master's degree students. Mentors and members of the guidance group can participate in the project proposal assessment work.

2、 Students participating in the proposal

All master's students are required to participate in the comprehensive assessment of the thesis proposal. Before the thesis proposal, students must be assessed by the supervising teacher to complete the reading of foreign literature. Those who fail the assessment are not allowed to enter the thesis proposal stage. If unable to participate due to force majeure reasons, the event can be postponed for 3 months. Students who fail to pass the proposal can apply for another proposal after 3 months. Overseas exchange students who provide written proposal materials will not be included in the elimination base.

3、 Assessment method for opening questions

Graduate students will give a 15 minute PPT presentation on their master's thesis topic, including the research background, research objectives and significance, domestic and international research status, main research content and plan, key problems to be solved, expected goals, etc. The members of the comprehensive assessment team for the thesis proposal will score on the "Master's Thesis Proposal Scoring Form" based on the report content and question answering situation, and the average score will be taken as the assessment result.

4、 Assessment results

According to the average score of each assessment group, the assessment results are divided into passing and deferred passing. Each assessment group implements a bottom elimination system based on a 10% ratio. Students who have deferred passing can apply for the opening of the exam again after 3 months.
