According to the requirements of the "Notice on the Application for Outstanding Doctoral and Master's Thesis in Jiangsu Province in 2024" (Jiangdayanzi [2024] No. 40) issued by the Graduate School of Jiangsu University, combined with the actual situation of the college, and after research by the Degree Sub Committee of the college, these detailed rules are formulated:

1、 Participants in the evaluation

Dissertations of doctoral and master's degree holders from the School of Environmental and Safety Engineering from September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023. The thesis participating in the selection should be an excellent thesis of the university in 2023 and not classified.

2、 Selection quota

Implement selection based on merit and quota. According to the first level discipline (professional degree category), one excellent thesis will be selected for each first level discipline (professional degree category) based on the degree granting level. Doctoral, academic master's, and professional master's theses supervised by the same graduate supervisor are each limited to one submission.

3、 Selection Procedure

1. Personal declaration

Graduate students themselves fill out the application form and provide supporting materials. As the graduate student has already graduated and left the school, please inform the graduate supervisor accordingly.

2. Initial evaluation of the college

The college held a degree evaluation committee to review and preliminarily evaluate the application materials. According to the expert evaluation criteria for excellent doctoral and master's theses in the province, emphasis is placed on the topic selection, research level, text writing, and innovation of the thesis. At the same time, the opinions of the thesis evaluation experts and the defense committee are referred to, and issues such as the ideology of the thesis, whether there is academic misconduct, and whether the supervisor has professional ethics and conduct are reviewed. After full discussion and anonymous voting, the selection list of the college is determined and sorted, and after 3 days of public announcement with no objections, it is reported to the Graduate School.

4、 Disciplinary requirements

Strictly follow the "Five Nos" discipline requirements to carry out preliminary evaluation and recommendation work, do not falsify, do not accept private interviews, do not accept gifts, do not disclose evaluation information that has not been published, and do not arrange activities unrelated to the evaluation. Members of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the college strengthen supervision over work processes and participate in the entire selection process of the college.
