In order to improve the quality of graduate education and the level of thesis writing, stimulate the innovative spirit of graduate students, and fully tap into the enthusiasm of graduate guidance teachers, our college has formulated these detailed rules in accordance with the requirements of the "Notice on Doing a Good Job in the Selection of Excellent Graduate Thesis Writing in 2025" document (Jiangda Yanzi [2025] No. 23) and combined with the actual situation of the college:

1、 Participants in the evaluation

The thesis of those who have obtained doctoral or master's degrees in the discipline of this college in the academic year 2024-2025 is not classified. If the thesis of a graduate student studying abroad is written in a foreign language, a detailed Chinese abstract must be submitted. Authors who have obtained the title of associate professor or above before the defense are not allowed to participate in the selection of their thesis.

2、 Evaluation criteria

1. The submission and defense of doctoral and master's theses shall meet at least two of the following conditions:

(1) The average score of the evaluation is above 85 points (inclusive), and the minimum score is not less than 80 points.

(2) The thesis is recommended as excellent by more than half (including half) of the reviewers.

(3) The thesis was recommended as excellent by the defense committee.

2. The academic achievements of doctoral and master's theses participating in the evaluation must be significantly higher than the basic requirements for degree granting, and high-level academic achievements closely related to the content of the thesis need to be added, all of which must be signed by Jiangsu University as the first affiliation.

Authors participating in the evaluation of excellent doctoral dissertations must obtain no less than 140 research training points (Level 7 or above achievements) during their studies, or obtain Level 2 or above individual research achievements.

Authors participating in the evaluation of excellent master's theses must obtain a research training score of no less than 40 points during their studies, or obtain a second level or above individual research achievement.

3、 Recommended quotas are classified based on merit and quota. The recommended quota shall not exceed 6% of the total number of master's degree holders in the 2024-2025 academic year of our college. Doctoral theses that meet the evaluation criteria can be recommended.

In the case where the thesis meets the prescribed evaluation criteria, the same graduate supervisor is limited to submitting one thesis for the same category of graduate students in the same discipline (or professional degree category).

4、 Selection Procedure

1. Personal declaration and material verification

The applicant shall fill in the materials according to the school's document form and submit them to the college before May 28th. After the college reviews and summarizes the materials, they shall be submitted to the graduate school for initial review.

2. The college convenes a degree sub committee to conduct anonymous voting based on students' application materials, focusing on the topic selection, research level, text writing, and innovation of the thesis. At the same time, referring to the review comments and defense situation of the thesis, the selected list will be publicly announced for 3 days without objection and then reported to the graduate school.
