RESEARCH INTERESTS
Mainly engaged in the research of alien species invasion and biodiversity in particular environments.
(1) Environmental and ecological mechanisms
Through the plant-soil interaction, endophytes contribution, reproductive allocation strategy, hormone regulation, phenotypic plasticity, nutrient cycling and other key aspects to explore the internal and external mechanisms of alien plants’ successful invasion, and to provide strong theoretical support for the prevention and control of invasive alien plants.
(2) Environmental ecotoxicology
In recent years, because the increasing frequency and intensity of human activity lead to the global environmental pollution, it is important to investigate the effects of the environmental pollutions (such as nitrogen deposition, acid rain, heavy metals and other environmental pollution) on physiology, ecological characteristics and invasion force of the invasive alien plant and its internal regulation mechanism.
(3) The model prediction and risk assessment
For rapid spread of the alien plants in most parts of China, constructing the corresponding mathematical - biological model to predict future distribution and suitable area of high-degree invasion of alien plants, and to assessed the directly or indirectly ecological impact of these alien plants on local ecosystems.
(4) Ecological restoration
Using the technology of botany, ecology and other disciplines to restore the ecosystem some degraded regions , therefore to recover all or the most part of their ecological structure and function.
